Program Description
This revalidation program is formalized and available with the training and curriculum recommended by the American Bar Association (ABA). This program for the foreign lawyer includes (i.) the homologation process with an equivalence and evaluation of foreign credentials, and (ii.) the program to prepare the NAFA member to be able to attend and sit for the bar exam (Bar Exam Review Course) with concentrations with the California (or New York or Louisiana bar exams).

Admission Requirements

(1)      NAFA Membership Approval*;
(2)      Foreign law degree transcripts;
(3)      English language proficiency - TOEFL minimum score required:
                  a. online requires a minimum score of 90 points;
                  b. on paper - 590 points;
                  c. Internet-based - 250 points; or
                  d. through IELTS - 70 points;
(4)      Two letters of recommendation;
(5)      Submission of resume / curriculum vitae (CV);
(6)      Written statement of purpose / intent in taking this course and program; and
(7)      Telephone or video interview, if requested.

These graduate level programs are comprehensive study programs and are only available to candidates whom have already completed a law degree and graduated outside of the United States. The program does not have thematic specialties and are courses taken by LL.M. students and graduates. The screening is also determined individually by a NAFA staff member, based on the member's interests.
